Me entero, gracias a un correo mandado por Leo Egghe a la lista SIGMETRICS, de que Elsevier tiene intención de editar una revista con el sugerente tÃtulo de Journal of Informetrics (ahora mismo no arroja ningún resultado [12 de abril de 2006; 16:23]). Será la primera tercera revista con la palabra informetrics en su tÃtulo (desgraciadamente no tengo acceso al Ulrich’s para contrastar tal aseveración) tras “JISSI: The International Journal of Scientometrics and Informetrics” y Cybermetrics: International Journal of Scientometrics, Informetrics and Bibliometrics (Gracias por las aclaraciones, Jakob y Franjo). Su primer número aparecerá en el 2007, aunque su versión electrónica tiene intención de aparecer en diciembre de 2006. Hasta entonces lo incluyo en los enlaces de BibliometrÃa, en el apartado de revistas de bibliometrÃa, pero sin enlace.
Actualización: Ya lo vaticinaba Jakob Voß en su blog Wikimetrics. Al César lo que es del César.

¿Tiene página web o algunas publicaciónes? Investigo sobre los wikis y Wikipedia pero la mayorÃa de mis artÃcolus son en Alemán.

¡No es la primera revista con la palabra informetrics en su tÃtulo! Ya hay Cybermetrics – International Journal of Scientometrics, Informetrics and Bibliometrics.

El Ulrich arroja dos revistas con la palabra “Informetrics” en su tÃtulo, la ya mencionada Cybermetrics, y una Editada en la India, J I S S I: International Journal of Scientometrics and Informetrics, con ISSN 0971-6696.

[...] The “Journal of Informetrics” will be published by Elsevier and edited by Leo Egghe – I just recieved a mail with 148 mail addresses of other potential researchers (nice starting point for scientometric analysis). Ãlvaro Roldán also wrote about it in his blog. Beside the fact that informetrics and scientometrics community is already too closed (analyzing ISI gets boring) – who needs another closed access journal with traditional peer-review? The call for papers (send in a Word-Document!) tells end of June as deadline for submission – the first issue will be published not before 2007 (electronic version in December 2006 but for universities willing to feed Elsevier only). Why don’t you just upload your papers at Arxiv.org (for instance IR and DL) or E-LIS (for instance here) and let the reader and reviewer judge? The review process is done by the same scientists anyway. If you resists on a journal then there are also open access journals, for instance Cybermetrics and JoDI. Looks like it’s a long way until researchers will research to find knowledge and not to get their papers listed in commercial databases. [...]
